Berlin / Los Angeles - With fanfares into the film music concert: the magnificent symphonic sound worlds of Hans Zimmer can be experienced for the first time in your city in a unique concert. Probably no composer has shaped the world of film with his overwhelming compositions as much as the Oscar, Globe, and Emmy winner. Visitors can expect a special musical evening in a grand performance with orchestra, choir, soloists, and a light show.
German-born Hans Zimmer became famous with "Rain Man" and has since helped numerous Hollywood mega-hits to success and dramatic-emotional impact, such as "Mission Impossible II", "Gladiator", "Pirates of the Caribbean" as well as "Interstellar" and "Batman". For the film score for Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk", Hans Zimmer received his eleventh Oscar nomination in 2018.
The audience will also learn interesting background stories, such as how Hans Zimmer completely changed the beginning of Gladiator with Ridley Scott and smuggled a message against apartheid into the lyrics of The Lion King in the national language, telling the Disney corporation that it was about butterflies...
"The Music of Hans Zimmer & More - A Celebration of Film Music" is presented by the Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra, a choir, and international soloists, with an impressive light show, projections, and selected film excerpts. Orchestra and Choir
The Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra cooperates in Europe with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Choir of the Republic of Belarus. This musical body delights audiences throughout Europe with "its unrestrained pleasure in making music." For several years, the ensemble has successfully performed at the most famous opera houses and concert halls in Germany, such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Philharmonie Munich, the Philharmonie Berlin, and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg.
The State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus was founded in 1927 as one of the oldest institutions in the Soviet Union. The "Belarusian State Philharmonic Society" was established ten years later, to which the orchestra belongs today. The Symphony Orchestra has always been one of the leading orchestras in Russia. Some of the most sought-after soloists of the twentieth century were always happy to accept the invitation of this Symphony Orchestra, such as David Oistrach, Yehudi Menuhin, Victor Ashkenazy, and Isaac Stern.
