A journey through the world of melodies – from Broadway to the spirited East and along the blue Danube! The New Year's Concert of the Weiz City Orchestra brings together Bernstein's lively Candide overture, the waltz euphoria of Strauss, charming operetta sounds from Lehár and Kálmán, as well as fiery dances by Brahms.

The audience can look forward to waltz classics – including a special treasure, the 'Delirium Waltz' by Eduard Strauss – and to polkas that simply belong to the New Year! Heartwarming sounds will be provided by the wonderful singer Dorit Machatsch, with melodies from Lehár and Kálmán. Even a little surprise from Paul Lincke has been snuck in.

To kick off the year with great momentum, the overture to 'Candide' by Bernstein is on the program, a small greeting from Broadway. For the necessary energy, there will be delights from Brahms and Leroy Anderson.

The collaboration between composer Peter I. Tchaikovsky and choreographer Marius Petipa was one of the happiest coincidences in ballet history. The fairy-tale "Schwanensee" story of the enchanted princess Odette is considered one of the great, timeless classics of ballet.
With utmost precision, the unforgettable and emotional compositions of Peter I. Tchaikovsky, a magical narrative, and spectacular dances are presented.

A sea voyage is fun, a sea voyage is beautiful.

Eva Maria Marold has accepted an engagement as a singer on a large cruise ship. Dream job or disaster? The ocean is endlessly vast, the cabins are scandalously cramped, and the passengers are unbearably human. Fortunately, there are Eva's wonderful musicians (non-swimmers), who support her not only musically but also morally. The mood stays up. The weather and the hairstyle too. Until suddenly, in the middle of one of the countless oceans, the ship gets in distress. In fast motion, Eva's life flashes before her mind's eye. What was actually important, right, necessary, meaningful?!

In her new program "Frauen und Kinder zuerst," Eva Maria Marold, directed by Captain Serge Falck, takes us on a humorous, and at times ironic and sarcastic journey on the cruise ship "Costa Dekadenzia."

The air at sea is rough. The tone can be as well. And the difference between "sing" and "sink" is a small but very essential one.

Balkan & Jazz – a new variation of this theme is presented by Sigi Finkel and Zoltan Migovics with their duo. Zoltan, who comes from the Hungarian minority in Western Ukraine, meets Sigi Finkel, a German who has lived in Vienna for a long time, with his accordion.
The encounter of these two high-caliber soloists into a duo promises music that intertwines both the fire and melancholy of the Balkans with the virtuosity of jazz.

The new play by the authors of the sensational comedy "Extrawurst" about a memorial service that goes completely off the rails. Wolfhardt Steininger, patriarch of a medium-sized company, has passed away peacefully at the age of 94, and his designated successor Hubert Zacherl is organizing the memorial service for the company. However, his message on the wreath ribbon causes quite a stir: "In deep sorrow. Your employees." Quickly, Hubert, the new "Old White Man" at the helm, finds himself not only at odds with his marketing manager, the social media head, and his secretary, but also with the very self-assured intern. In front of the theater audience, gathered as a mourning congregation, the management of the company increasingly tears itself apart in this highly charged play. Not even the desperate pastor can smooth the waves. The comedy, full of twists, sharply portrays the abysses, pitfalls, and rhetorical tricks of the current discussion on politically correct "gendering" and its socially "mandated" interactions, while also uncovering their all-too-human causes, awakening the longing for attentive and respectful interactions with one another. As with "Extrawurst," the audience can expect a whirlwind of punchlines. Thoughtful fun and material for discussion are guaranteed.

Malarina needs to come up with something. Her fame has led to the tax office and social security constantly demanding absurd amounts of money from her. How convenient that she lives in Austria, a country without inheritance tax. Malarina is a bourgeois pseudo-feminist. She prefers to use the patriarchy to her advantage rather than wanting to dismantle it. So the trophy woman sets out in search of potential partners and dates through the history of humanity.

JOHNNY BERTL TELLS THE STORY OF A FRIENDSHIP

The Austrian songwriter Ludwig Hirsch left a mark on the history of Austropop with his unforgettable songs. Since his legendary debut album "Dunkelgraue Lieder" (1978) with classics like "Die Omama," "Spuck den Schnuller aus," "Der Herr Haslinger," "I lieg am Ruckn," and with the great legacy of "Komm großer schwarzer Vogel," Ludwig Hirsch remains deeply ingrained in the consciousness of his fans and companions.

His longtime companion, bandleader, and guitarist Johnny Bertl guarantees the familiar Hirsch live sound with his fantastic band.

Together with Felix Kramer, Thomas Stipsits, Wolf Bachofner & Jo Bertl, we would like to remember the incomparable Ludwig Hirsch and dedicate this special evening to the work of the greatest Austrian songwriter of our time.

Mogli - The Jungle Book! A newly composed, wonderful adventure musical for the whole family based on the world-famous story by Rudyard Kipling.

Mowgli's greatest adventure is about to begin:
Shir Khan, the tiger, is prowling through the jungle again. But the humans also threaten the untouched nature. Fortunately, the brave human boy, raised by wolves, has his loyal friends Baloo, the bear, and Bagheera, the black panther, by his side. But when the wild monkey gang also kidnaps Mowgli, the entire jungle is in an uproar. Will Mowgli manage to save the jungle? A new teatro musical with music by David Schieber and Lena Wiesinger, based on the book by Norbert Holoubek.

A TRIBUTE: UDO JÜRGENS... ALWAYS JUST MUSIC
On the occasion of 60 years of Merci Cherie

Udo was grateful and approachable. Entertainment with conviction was the credo of the extraordinary Austrian artist, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 21, 2014, during his tour "In the Midst of Life."

Robert Helbig was Udo Jürgens' personal assistant and friend, accompanying him on his tours. This tribute is designed by Helbig as an evening of memories with unique stories and great music.

Helbig shares cheerful, serious, and very personal anecdotes from his time as Udo's companion and friend. Johannes Lafer, singer & entertainer, guides the evening and interprets the wonderful songs of Udo Jürgens in a personally charming manner. Dr. Michael Kahr leads a gala ensemble from the piano, inspired by the wonderful arrangements of the Pepe Lienhard Band.

For the second time, the Wiener Glacis Ensemble will perform in Weiz. Flexibility in the ensemble composition and the skillful selection of forgotten, newly arranged works of chamber music are the trademarks of the ensemble, which includes members of the Vienna Philharmonic, the NÖ Tonkünstler, and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.

On the occasion of the anniversary year 2026 - 100 years of Hannes Schwarz - his grandniece, the flutist and founder of the ensemble, Doris Haimel, will guide the evening with anecdotes about Hannes Schwarz and the lives of musicians and artists in general. A chamber music favorite of the honoree, who passed away in 2014, will also be featured in the program.

Look forward to a colorful, musical bouquet for Hannes Schwarz and a tribute that connects the past and the present.

The two full-blooded comedians Heinz Marecek and Erwin Steinhauer will bring their successful program “Was lachen Sie?” back to the stage on the occasion of Heinz Marecek's 80th birthday on September 17, 2025. The program, which was sold out over 120 times throughout Austria more than 25 years ago, not only offers the classic double conference – with Steinhauer as the "smart one" and Marecek as the "silly one" – but also solo pieces by the two acting legends. The comeback is supported by years of stage experience, pointed humor, and a deep appreciation for the Viennese cabaret tradition. The audience can expect an evening that brings laughter but also stimulates thought – an event that should not be missed.

Clash of two worlds: In the musical highlight "Tarzan", the audience experiences a breathtaking jungle adventure alongside the title hero. Spectacular original compositions, plenty of tension, and a touch of romance ensure an entertaining live experience for the whole family!

Unforgettable Musical Show
Theater Liberi, known for its modern family musicals, stages the hundred-year-old story by Edgar Rice Burrough in a contemporary version. Imaginative costumes, a playful, colorful backdrop, and atmospheric lighting effects create the jungle world where Tarzan belongs. Musically, the audience is taken on a diverse journey through various genres that impress with grand arrangements and intense emotions. A well-trained ensemble ensures that characters, music, and sets on stage merge into a unique whole.

Exciting Adventures in the Jungle
A young family shipwrecks and is attacked by wild animals shortly after landing on the African coast. Left behind is a young boy, who is taken in and raised by the ape Kala as her own child. Despite finding a home with the apes and a good friend in the ape girl Tee, Tarzan still feels that he doesn't truly belong with them, even after years, under the leadership of Kerchak. The feeling of needing to find his place in the world becomes even stronger when Tarzan encounters humans for the first time. Professor Porter, his curious daughter Jane, and the shady Olivia Clayton are on an expedition to explore the jungle. Over time, Tarzan and Jane grow closer, but then events take a dramatic turn, putting Tarzan and his ape family in great danger…
