Wiener Johann Strauß Konzert-Gala
She is a guarantor of fresh zest for life, vitality, and sensual pleasure: the “Wiener Johann Strauß Konzert-Gala”. Since 1996, the Austrian export hit - the original with Kendlingers K&K Philharmonikers - has captivated more than 1.5 million enthusiasts in 19 European countries - a musical fountain of youth, at which even kings and emperors would have true joy - cult status included!
In 1996, Matthias Georg Kendlinger launched this tour – one of the most successful in music history with well over a million visitors to date: Matthias Georg Kendlinger, founder of the K&K Philharmoniker, the K&K Ballet, and the K&K Opera Chorus. Together with his ensembles, he receives cheers and standing ovations, among others, in the concert halls of Madrid, Zurich, Oslo, Paris, Berlin, and in the Vienna Musikverein. Kendlinger assembles the program anew each year, directs the rehearsals, and is often seen at the podium himself. Alternately conducting are son Max Kendlinger, Taras Lenko, and Ihor Muravyov.
In selected cities, Kendlingers K&K Ballet can also be experienced - co-founded by the unforgettable Viennese choreographer Gerlinde Dill, who choreographed for over two decades for the world-renowned New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. From 2009 to 2020, Viktor Litvinov, former ballet master of the Kiev State Opera, followed in her footsteps. The ballet master for this year's tour will once again be the dancer and choreographer Marianna Stankevych. The program traditionally includes not only the unmistakable evergreens of the Strauß Dynasty but also various rarities. Additionally, refreshing humor is a hallmark of this concert series. Of course, one can also look forward to the Blue Danube Waltz and the obligatory encore Radetzky March. All in all: The Wiener Johann Strauß Konzert-Gala enchants its audience, even on Danish television DR and on ZDF, where it has been broadcast multiple times.
