Sigur Ros - Top Seats
Sigur Rós are coming back to Vienna! On September 6 & 7, 2025, they will perform 2 evenings at the Wiener Konzerhaus with the 41-member Patchwork Orchestra, playing tracks from their latest album ÁTTA as well as favorites from their extensive catalog.
Sigur Rós are excited to announce today the EU/UK leg of their unique world tour, where they will collaborate with orchestras to bring their current album ÁTTA as well as their favorite pieces from their extensive catalog to life. On this tour, they will perform in some of the most famous orchestral venues in the world. The Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sala Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Salle Playel in Paris, the Bozar in Brussels, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna are just a few of the legendary locations.
This tour follows their acclaimed album ÁTTA from 2023, as well as the sold-out orchestral tour through Europe last year and two recently completed, sold-out tours in North America. The shows in 2024/2025 will be the last opportunity for fans to see this orchestral performance by Sigur Rós, making these dates another significant milestone in their career. 2025 will be a special year for the band as their groundbreaking album Takk celebrates its 20th anniversary.
For the first time in their career, Sigur Rós will perform at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO), and all concerts will be conducted by Robert Ames.
Other orchestras that the band will collaborate with in 2025 include the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra, the Resound Collective, the Brisbane Philharmonic, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and more.
In 2023, Sigur Rós incorporated orchestral accompaniment as part of their tours, aiming not only to spotlight themselves but also a number of phenomenal orchestras around the world. After reuniting with keyboardist Kjartan Sveinsson in 2022, the band members performed in large concert halls across Europe and North America with full orchestras. For their performances in the USA, the band enlisted the Wordless Music Orchestra and were described as “an articulation of beauty that is almost unfathomable” (Dallas Observer). The performances are as expressive and indescribable as the hopeland, a testament to the timeless appeal of Sigur Rós.
The new tour follows a fruitful era for the band’s fans. At the beginning of the new decade, the band has dug deep into their archives and released long-awaited works. They first released Odin's Raven Magic (2020), an orchestral album that had originally been created almost two decades earlier and was later reissued for its 20th anniversary in 2022. Their first collection of new material in nearly a decade, ÁTTA (2023), is strongly orchestral in nature and features contributions from the London Contemporary Orchestra. With nearly ten million albums sold, Sigur Rós is one of the most ambitious and celebrated bands of recent times, with their new artistic endeavors only pointing to a far-reaching, exciting future.
