Is Don Giovanni above categories like morality and law? Can he even act differently or is there a force of nature within him to which he submits himself helplessly, just like the many female victims of his unchecked desire?

From sparkling zest for life and exuberant sensuality to melancholy and the horrors of death: The unique connection between Buffa and Opera seria, the immense variety of the score that effortlessly shifts between major and minor, recitative and aria, chromaticism and diatonicism, the complexity of the characters and the intensity of their emotions make Don Giovanni a work that occupies a prominent position even within Mozart's entire oeuvre.
