Ernst Hutter & die Egerländer Musikanten - Mein Finale
The coming year marks two significant anniversaries for the leader of the "Egerländer": Ernst Hutter will have been at the helm of the world's most successful brass orchestra for 25 years, and will have worn the Egerländer traditional costume for a remarkable 40 years. 2025 is a year to celebrate for Ernst Hutter – and a year of farewell for the man who has shaped the legacy of the Egerländer Musikanten like no other since Ernst Mosch.
In an emotional video message, Ernst Hutter has announced his departure from the Original Egerländer Musikanten. "Mein Finale" – that's the tour motto that will take him and his orchestra to over 40 cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Holland. And as always at the "Egerländer concerts", an emotionally connected celebration will take place. "I look forward to embarking on this special journey with you and enjoying our music to the fullest once again," Ernst Hutter said in his video statement. The tour dates are already set, with pre-sale underway for many concerts.
It was in 1985 when the legendary Ernst Mosch, the founder of the Original Egerländer Musikanten and pioneer of the swinging Egerländer sound, appointed the young Ernst Hutter to his orchestra. The Allgäu tenor horn player and trombonist quickly became a central figure there. In 2000, after Ernst Mosch's passing, Ernst Hutter took over the leadership of the Egerländer Musikanten. "This time was characterized by countless experiences, challenges, and above all by the unforgettable music we created together," Ernst Hutter recalls looking back on his nearly 1000 concerts as the head of the Egerländer Musikanten to this day. "But there are also natural limits. And it has always been my vision to choose the moment of my farewell autonomously."
Before Ernst Hutter passes on the baton at the end of 2025, there is great anticipation for "Mein Finale". "It will be a time to look back, celebrate, laugh... and perhaps shed a tear or two," Hutter said. "But above all, it will be a time of gratitude. Thanks to you, my loyal friends and companions, who have supported and inspired me over all these years."
In his gratitude, the departing Egerländer leader includes the loyal Egerländer audience and the many partners* from the entire event scene, as well as the multitude of "his" musicians who have performed as Original Egerländer over the past decades. The involvement of young musicians with heart and passion for Egerländer music has always been a concern for Ernst Hutter. "This is crucial to secure the orchestra's future. The enthusiasm of young people and their fresh ideas contribute to maintaining and developing the orchestra's heritage." In this sense, after the farewell tour in 2025, Ernst Hutter also intends to pass on the musical leadership of the orchestra to the next generation. "By encouraging and supporting young talents, we not only give them the opportunity to contribute their own creative impulses but also the responsibility to preserve and reinterpret our musical heritage."
The new musical director has already been chosen and will be introduced on June 8. It is also certain that the family business HutterMusic, which has been responsible for the fate of the orchestra as a label and publisher for many years, will continue to manage the Original Egerländer Musikanten in the proven manner even after Ernst's Final.
But for now, Ernst Hutter is still at the forefront of the Original Egerländer Musikanten. Eagerly anticipating the upcoming farewell tour, he looks forward to the months ahead. "I want to share my joy for the 'Egerländer' once again with my audience. At the same time, I want to make a statement that our music is timeless. With 'my Final program', I want to celebrate and emphasize my idealistic work and my always emotional commitment to our 'Band' and its great history."
Thank you, Ernst Hutter!
