Compassion, solidarity, respect? Outdated values of a generation they despise. They communicate via Skype, SMS, chat, or mobile phone, and yet there remains a feeling of overwhelming loneliness.
A woman takes stock of her life so far: once a member of a tough girl gang, today peaceful Urban Knitting, once awkwardly kissing boys, today gender issues and the projects “Sex” and “Love” with men or women, once lofty ideals, today pragmatism. Emotion is something she mainly knows from movies, family an antiquated concept, there is no room for longing in life. Joyful, furious, rich in tempo and punchlines, the author confronts the demands of our world; what remains is a diffuse fear that hurts, no matter if you are 25 or 52: the fear "that everything could remain as it is: gray."
