J.J. Cale was a quiet giant of music history – a musician who never sought the limelight but influenced generations. As one of the founders of the Tulsa Sound, he merged blues, country, rock, and jazz into a relaxed, groovy style that later had a worldwide impact.

His debut album "Naturally" (1972) brought his first commercial success with the song "Crazy Mama," his only own Top-40 hit in the USA. However, many of his greatest songs became famous primarily through others: Eric Clapton turned "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" into worldwide hits. Lynyrd Skynyrd gave "Call Me The Breeze" a Southern rock twist, catapulting the song into the rock canon.

His music was characterized by understatement, minimalism, and a deep rhythmic calmness. Colleagues often referred to Cale as a "Musician's Musician" – an artist who impressed not through volume but through style and authenticity.

Cale's influence is palpable in the music of Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits, John Mayer, Beck, Lucinda Williams, and many more. In 2006, he released the album “The Road to Escondido” with Eric Clapton, which won a Grammy in 2008 for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

Led by Georg “Gic” Gruber, one of the most sought-after guitarists in the Salzburg music scene, known from projects such as Blueswuzln, Freebird, and The Floyd Council, Gic&Band perform in a classic power trio format with Mandi Blühweis on bass and Hannes Gappmaier on drums. The band regularly presents precisely executed song material, whether it’s a journey through the history of blues, with songs from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Ray Vaughan, or the extensive Eric Clapton tribute that they presented at the Rockhouse to the delight of fans.

Virtuoso guitar solos, groovy rhythms, and an energetic stage presence round out the trio's shows. Now they are bringing an extensive J.J. Cale retrospective to the stage. Musical guests not excluded.

In his famous play, Molière describes the relationship between a self-pitying hypochondriac and his greedy doctors as a mutually beneficial symbiosis. He dedicates the play to the Sun King, who was indeed cruelly cured to death by so-called healers with enemas. Molière himself, who played the title role on stage, succumbed – as if a higher instance had written this punchline – to a fatal hemorrhage during the fourth performance.
In their rewriting, Barbara Sommer and Plinio Bachmann update the play to a whirlwind of hypersensitivity – a competition for the dubious honor of being the most vulnerable.

Ken Ludwig, who has already successfully adapted Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express for the stage, now turns to another legendary figure of English crime literature: “In my play, it’s primarily about the deep friendship between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. It forms the core of the myth that Conan Doyle created. The Case of Moriarty is my attempt to give us all a fresh opportunity to experience the comedic fun and melodramatic pyrotechnics of the Holmes universe.”

After his highly successful production of The Great Dictator, Dominic Oley – again with a small, extremely versatile cast – will bring this gripping Sherlock Holmes adventure to the stage of the Kammerspiele.

What happens when an actor and a comic book artist tell a fairy tale together? An exciting, unprecedented form of theater. If the actor is also a musician, there's a lot of lively, catchy music added to the mix.

Everyone knows the fairy tale of the brave, courageous little tailor. But why "little tailor"? Does this affectionate term not reveal something about the true nature of the tailor? He is not a hero; rather, inside him is a little fraud who stumbles from one adventure to the next through his exaggerated self-assessments. Admittedly, he passes these adventures with wit and intelligence; yet he is not brave in the best sense. The fact remains that his successes are based on untruths and misjudgments, and that is the truly interesting part of this fairy tale. There are flies defeated, giants overcome, a unicorn vanquished, and a wild boar captured, for which he is gifted a princess and half of a kingdom. Nice, but will he be happy? And what about the princess? Therefore, besides the classic ending of the tale, there is another possibility, but that shall not be revealed.

In this fairy tale-comic-musical theater based on Grimm, by and with Mathias Schuh, it’s about overestimation and showboating but also about how he manages to outsmart his opponents through clever claims. For all children aged 4 and up, and the best part is, you can "choose the ending of the story".

How the Cabaret Came to Be

Andreas discovered his love for cabaret in his youth. Back in the late 90s, it was people like Alfred Dorfer and Josef Hader who inspired him. His first attempts and stage experiences took place in the youth theater of the European youth. With the play "The Master Boxer," where Andreas received the lead role, it even went on a tour in Germany.

At some point, however, music developed into a major passion, and in 2008, he made the leap to becoming a professional musician. But thoughts of a personal cabaret program kept coming back. Only with the completion of the book "On the Way to Myself" by Schlintl and the consideration of how and in what context it should be presented did the decision to do cabaret come. This was further supported by his friend and best man Harald. The first cabaret program, which shares the same name as the book, tells stories from life and the "ME" that everyone carries within. "As children, we have big dreams and wishes, but these are mostly crushed by our environment and school, so we can hardly remember them as adults." Andreas packages partly his own stories, like the one about a blockage as an apprentice plumber, or the sensitive topic of vacuuming in a relationship, into relatable stories. When the laughter muscles need a break, he picks up the guitar and musically points out that we are becoming more and more a number.

The actor Bruscon tours with his universal comedy The Wheel of History throughout the Austrian provinces. Before the guest performance at the "Black Stag" in the small community of Utzbach, he inspects the hall where the performance is to take place. Despite the adverse circumstances – a run-down stage, a possibly non-extinguishable emergency lighting for fire safety reasons, and his family as a talentless ensemble – Bruscon remains convinced of his own genius. However, in his obsession with the perfect performance, he will soon be caught up by reality.

In Thomas Bernhard's classic The Theatermaker, the demand for total darkness becomes not only a symbol of the artist's self-overestimation but also an allegory for the "hostility to art" and the bureaucratic hurdles in Austrian society. As a metadramatic commentary on the theater scandal surrounding the premiere of Bernhard's The Ignorant and the Madman, in classic Bernhard style, no one escapes ridicule – neither the artist nor society.

As an eternal bachelor without military or official duties, he lived a life that was otherwise impossible for anyone until several scandals led to a tragic end.

One year after the writer's death, five women close to Franz Kafka meet at the house of Kafka's bourgeois parents in the center of Prague. These are Ottla Kafka, Franz Kafka's favorite sister, Dora Diamant, his life companion in the last months of his life, Felice Bauer, his fiancée whom he never married, Julie Wohryzek, his last fiancée, and Milena Jesenská, the first translator of his texts into Czech and pen pal. They are all intertwined in various ways by a difficult love for Kafka, not least because he was "too little simple".

Janko Ferk works and lives in Klagenfurt. He is a lawyer, honorary professor of literary studies at the Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt and a writer. He has published more than forty books to date. He has received numerous awards and honors for his literary and scientific works.

Divanhana like to look beyond their plate and have collaborated in recent years with the popular Turkish singer and actress Suzan Kardeş, among others. Highlights of their career include an artistic collaboration with the US musical star Bradley Dean. Thus, Sevdalinka has reached Broadway for the first time!
Even the forced Corona isolation was utilized by Divanhana for a new project: the "Quarantine EP" was largely recorded on the smartphones of individual band members while the musicians were spread across six different cities in their homeland. In this way, Divanhana made the best out of the pandemic situation with limited resources.
"Zavrzlama" was recorded back in February 2020 in Slovenia, just before the first lockdown. The album was mixed only in June 2021 in Sarajevo. The hauntingly reduced album opener "Na Kuslatu Se Mahrama Vihori" showcases Šejla Grgić at the peak of her abilities and skilfully maintains the balance between intimacy and latent threat. In contrast, the lively "Cilim" invites you to dance, while "Peno" pays homage to the legendary Roma singer and songwriter Saban Bajramovic, one of the "wildest talents" in Tito-era Yugoslavia. "Opa Opa," on the other hand, from the pen of the renowned Serbian composer Radivoje Radivojevic, thrives entirely on the seductive voice of Šejla Grgić and surprises with intoxicating Latin piano and horn sounds. "Voce Rodilo" and "Zova" were both written by Divanhana's keyboardist Neven Tunjic, who confidently establishes himself as one of the most exciting young songwriters in the long tradition of Balkan folk music.

Anniversary tour for the 40th anniversary of the hit "Rock Me Amadeus" and "Coming Home" in Austria with the original band, special guests, and FALCO live on screen!

40 years of "Rock Me Amadeus" - the undisputed number 1.
With "Rock Me Amadeus," FALCO stormed the US Billboard charts and the UK Top 40 in March 1986, making music history. It remains to this day the first and only German-language song to achieve these top positions. Now - 40 years later - this event will be celebrated with a very special concert tour. With original recordings from FALCO's career, FALCO's original band will take the original sound to stages in Austria in autumn 2025, together with local star soloists.

Like every year, around FALCO's birthday (February 19), the crème de la crème of the Austrian music scene gathers at the Viennese cult club U4 for the so-called "Goldfish" concerts to reflect on the musical oeuvre of the exceptional musician. A tribute to the country's first pop star and a perfect moment to kick off the anniversary year and announce this unique live production, bringing the sound and style from the former local hangout, the U4, to the provinces and celebrating it properly.

The original band includes bandleader and keyboardist Thomas Rabitsch, Bernhard Rabitsch (trumpet and percussion), Robert Pistracher (bass), Peter Paul Skrepek (guitar), Peter Vieweger (guitar), and Florian Holoubek (drums) on stage. While FALCO appears to be back on stage on a large LED wall integrated into the stage design, Thomas Rabitsch has gathered a selection of handpicked guests to perform duets with FALCO, bringing his unforgettable hits back to the stage. Among them are no less than Ana Milva Gomes, Drew Sarich, Edita Malovcic, Georgij Makazaria, Johannes Krisch, Roman Gregory, Skero, and Tini Kainrath.

No imitators, no karaoke, no playback

The Raiffeisen Halle in the Gasometer, operated by Planet Music & Media, is Vienna's number 1 hotspot for live concerts and clubbing. However, even before this use, nearly 40 years ago, when the gasometers were decommissioned, the storages initially served as a film set. They were not only available for film shoots for the James Bond film "A View to a Kill" but also for Austria's first pop star: in the music video for "Coming Home (Jeanny Part 2, A Year Later)" (1986). FALCO used not only the interiors of these gigantic cylinders but also exterior shots. Therefore, the anniversary tour for 40 years of "Rock Me Amadeus" will culminate on November 28, 2025, in Vienna.
