She is a guarantor of fresh feeling of life, vitality and pleasure: the "Viennese Johann Strauss Concert Gala". Since 1996, Matthias Georg Kendlinger's export hit - the original with the K&K Philharmonics - has enchanted more than 1 million enthusiasts in 19 European countries - a musical fountain of youth, which even kings and emperors would truly enjoy - including cult status!
In 1996, Matthias Georg Kendlinger launched this tour - with far over one million visitors so far, one of the most successful in musical history: Matthias Georg Kendlinger, founder of the K&K Philharmonics, the Austrian K&K Ballet, and the K&K Opera Choir. Together with his ensembles, he receives bravos and standing ovations, among others in the concert halls of Madrid, Zurich, Oslo, Paris, Berlin and in the Viennese Musikverein. Kendlinger annually puts together the program, directs the rehearsals and is often also seen at the conductor's stand. Alternating conducting are son Max Kendlinger, Taras Lenko, and Ihor Muravyov.
In selected cities, the Austrian K&K Ballet can also be experienced, co-founded by the unforgettable Viennese choreographer Gerlinde Dill, who choreographed, among other things, for over two decades the world-famous New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. From 2009 to 2020, Viktor Litvinov, former ballet master of the Kiev State Opera, followed in her footsteps. The ballet mistress of this year's tour is the dancer and choreographer Marianna Stankevych.
In addition to the unmistakable evergreens of the Strauss Dynasty, the program also traditionally includes various rarities. Moreover, refreshing humor is a trademark of this concert series. Of course, one can also look forward to the Blue Danube Waltz and the obligatory encore, the Radetzky March. All in all: The Viennese Johann Strauss Concert Gala enchants its audience, even on Danish television DR and ZDF, where it has been broadcast multiple times.
