FRIZZY P & MR COLE, a trip hop duo with an analog soul, reveal an intimate, melancholy and emotionally charged music. With an aesthetic that blends oldschool hip-hop, trip hop and jazz, these two artists from the Paris region have established themselves as discreet but increasingly important figures on the independent music scene. Their distinctive style, with its distinctive sound, is expressed with sincerity and without artifice in works that are both modern and timeless.

FRIZZY P, singer and songwriter, and MR COLE, composer and beatmaker, met in 2015 in the Paris suburbs. One, marked by a nomadic past between London and France, draws from her dual Anglo-Saxon and French culture a unique vision of the musical genre, which she expresses with a bewitching voice between rap and vocals. The other, a self-taught artist with a passion for organic sounds, tirelessly cuts samples that resonate with vintage soul and boom bap, while placing particular importance on composition. Together, they decided to combine their talents to give birth to their project.

In 2017, the duo launched their debut EP Ladi Dadi, a project that crossed borders and quickly established itself as an underground reference. With millions of streams on Spotify and airplay on BBC Music 6, Nova and FIP, FRIZZY P & MR COLE demonstrate their ability to reach a wide audience while remaining true to their artistic vision. In 2023, the duo return with Ladi Dadi II, a follow-up project to their first opus. This album deepens their style and explores new sonic territories. In April 2024, they release a side project entitled The Backroom Tape. This mixtape includes seven previously unreleased tracks that didn’t make it onto the trilogy’s EPs. FRIZZY P & MR COLE conclude their trilogy with Ladi Dadi Part III in April 2025. As always, it’s a successful rendezvous with their loyal listeners, fusing melancholy, power and raw emotion. Little by little, through their works, they seem to reveal a little more of themselves, revealing the full depth of their musical alchemy. We find a solid trip-hop base with jazzy accents, enveloping, hypnotic and groovy to perfection, often introspective lyrics, in which personal experience is sometimes transformed into demands and broader social criticism, and an energy that comes from heart and soul.
