June 9th, 2025 - Auckland’s soul-electronic collective LEISURE announce their brand-new studio album Welcome To The Mood, to be released on September 12th, 2025. Across their fifth studio album, the genre-melding sextet refine their soulful, slow-burning sound into a vibrant new chapter rooted in community, creative freedom, and lived experience.
Shifting to a more organic live band approach, the group wrote and recorded the album over the past year: "After the last tour we wanted to bring more live elements in, so we eased up on the drum loops and did a lot more live tracking," they explain. The project was further elevated by the addition of strings, horns, pianos, and backing vocalists.
Still, the album remains personal. Written in remote writing locations, the songs carry the peacefulness of isolation while unlocking a new openness and musical celebration.

Welcome To The Mood is a sonic expression of authenticity, humanity, and creative celebration. Its lyrics explore universal experiences - love, loss, connection, hope, meaning - woven through everyday life and expressed with LEISURE’s trademark warmth and groove.
One visual and sonic point of reference: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West, where the live video for "Missing You" was shot. A nod to Wright’s futuristic yet nostalgic architecture. LEISURE explains: "Even in 2025, the space still feels futuristic despite being built in 1937. That’s our goal for the music too."
